Who we are

In 1991, Donna Stevens began feeding hot meals from the trunk of her car to people in need in the Bellows Falls community. Donna defined our mission and our core belief in helping others in our community with a standard of inclusivity and non-judgment. Donna's vision became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the 1993 founding of Our Place Drop-in Center (now Our Place Community Food Center). Today, our service area has expanded to include the towns surrounding Bellows Falls, Vermont, as well as Walpole and North Walpole in New Hampshire. Our Place continues Donna’s vision of treating and helping people and over the years has become a community food center focused on alleviating hunger and food insecurity in our community.

Did you know? Our Place replaced styrofoam food containers with biodegradable boxes, which are safer for the environment. These recyclable fiberboard to-go containers cost us 39 cents each, which is over 10% of the cost for us to produce a meal. Your donations support this and other improvements!

Your support makes our work possible

Your one-time or monthly donation allows us to offer nutritious food and support to your neighbors in need of assistance. Thank you!
