Empty Bowl Event Canceled for 2024
I am sad to report that Our Place Drop-in Center will be unable to host our popular Empty Bowl Dinner for 2024. The Empty Bowl Dinner has always been the Board of Directors at Our Place's premier event of the year, and a much anticipated and loved event. Unfortunately, the Board of Directors at Our Place, faced with limiting resources and a strict unforgiving timeline, has been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel this community tradition this year.
No one is more disappointed about this news than all of us here at Our Place. The Empty Bowl Dinner has been Our Place's largest fundraising event each year and represents about 10% of our program’s budget. Without this income, we will be challenged to meet the demand for food to share with our neighbors in need.
I have come to know the tremendous support and generosity of this community over my tenure here, and I know many of you will be looking for ways to help. Here are some ways you can help:

Please consider making a donation equal to or greater than what you would've contributed at the Empty Bowls event, keeping in mind that these funds are used to provide meals and emergency groceries for those in need... right here at home. You can do so online or by mailing a check to:

Visit with Our Place and other nonprofit organizations from the greater Rockinghgam area!
We will be gathering at the 24 Main Street Community Building in Saxtons River to showcase the services we provide and share the opportunity to turn your generosity into meaningful holiday gift-giving.
Please join us and consider making donations in the name of your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers. For each donation made, attendees will receive a gift card provided by the nonprofit organizations, and an ornament will be placed on the holiday tree inside the Community Building. Some organizations will have other items for sale and benefits for different levels of giving. Light snacks and general holiday cheer will be shared with all.
